Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be at their printed value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just appear as the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and 5 will have a total of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be given depending on the foll. practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pay 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties will happen less than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Nonetheless odds are especially better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)

When done accurately, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Monitoring of last conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and probably most successful strategy is the one-3-two-6 scheme. This method is used to build up winnings and limiting risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
