Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of 10 are valued at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly act as the two hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards are then played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 and five has a total score of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be played depending on the foll. codes:
- If the player or banker has a score of eight or 9, both players stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart is used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays 8 to one but occasionally nine to 1. (This is not a good bet as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. However odds are remarkably better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)
Played effectively, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, away from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually an indicator of future outcomes.
