Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of ten are worth their printed number meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only appear as the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 results in a total score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card might be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pay out 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are far better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of past outcomes on a chart is a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and feasibly most successful method is the 1-3-two-6 concept. This tactic is used to increase payout and reducing risk.

Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
