Baccarat Principles

Punto banco is gambled on with eight decks in a shoe. Cards under 10 are counted at their printed value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the total of the cards, although the first digit is dumped. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a total of one (5 plus 6 = 11; ignore the initial ‘1′).

A third card might be dealt using the following rules:

- If the gambler or bank gets a score of eight or 9, the two players stay.

- If the player has less than five, she takes a card. Players stays otherwise.

- If the gambler stays, the banker takes a card on 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to see if the house stays or takes a card.

The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the house payout 19 to 20 (even payout less a 5% commission. Commission are tracked and cleared out once you leave the table so be sure to have money around just before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pays out at 1:1. Winning wagers for a tie typically pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)

Gambled on correctly baccarat offers fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games punto banco has quite a few accepted myths. One of which is the same as a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of future actions. Recording past results on a sheet of paper is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary desires.

The most common and definitely the most accomplished scheme is the 1-3-2-6 tactic. This technique is deployed to maximize earnings and minimizing risk.

Start by betting 1 chip. If you win, add another to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will retain 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you keep two on the third wager. If you succeed on the third bet, deposit 2 to the 4 on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th round.

Should you don’t win on the 1st round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the first round followed by a loss on the second brings about a hit of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a gain of 2. And wins on the initial three with a hit on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning all 4 bets leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you are able to not win on the second wager 5 instances for every successful streak of four wagers and in the end, break even.
