Baccarat Principles

Baccarat chemin de fer is played with eight decks in a shoe. Cards under ten are counted at their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for every hand is the total of the two cards, but the first number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a total of one (five plus six = 11; ignore the initial ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be dealt using the rules below:

- If the gambler or house achieves a value of 8 or nine, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players otherwise hold.

- If the player holds, the bank hits on five or lower. If the player takes a card, a guide is used to determine if the house stays or takes a card.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The bigger of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the bank payout nineteen to Twenty (equal cash minus a five percent commission. Commission are kept track of and paid off when you quit the game so make sure you have money left before you head out). Winning wagers on the gambler pays out at one to one. Winning bets for a tie frequently pays out at eight to one but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as ties happen lower than 1 in every ten hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly better for nine to one vs. 8:1)

Wagered on properly punto banco provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has a few established myths. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of events yet to happen. Tracking past outcomes on a page of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and almost certainly the most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six technique. This technique is employed to build up winnings and limit risk.

Begin by wagering 1 chip. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a grand total of 3 chips on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold six on the game table, subtract four so you are left with two on the third wager. Should you succeed on the 3rd round, put down 2 on the 4 on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth round.

Should you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by a hit on the 2nd creates a hit of two. Wins on the first two with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And wins on the first three with a defeat on the 4th means you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you will be able to not win on the second round five instances for every successful run of 4 wagers and still are even.
