Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards under ten are of face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply symbolize the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 … 5 results in a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given out depending on the foll. standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of 8 or 9, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart is used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties happen less than 1 every ten hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Nevertheless odds are radically better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. 1 of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is never actually an actual indicator of future actions. Keeping track of past outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six concept. This method is used to accentuate earnings and controlling risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
