Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are said to be worth their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply portray the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 has a value of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given out depending on the following standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, then both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie customarily pay out 8 to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are especially better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)

When done correctly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an indicator of future events. Staying abreast of prior outcomes on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and feasibly most successful strategy is the one-3-2-6 concept. This method is employed to build up payout and controlling risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
