Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are said to be at face value meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely depict the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven … 5 produces a value of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be dealt depending on the following practices:

- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the player has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to 1 and sometimes nine to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. be wary of putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are actually better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

When played properly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of last outcomes on a chart is a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and possibly most successful method is the 1-3-two-6 concept. This plan is used to boost payouts and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
