Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of 10 are said to be at their printed number meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they merely symbolize the two hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven … 5 gives a total score of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card could be dealt depending on the following codes:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pay eight to one but on occasion nine to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Run away from laying money on a tie. Even so odds are decidedly better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of last conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-six concept. This schema is used to pump up successes and cutting back risk.

start by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
