Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under 10 are counted at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they purely represent the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and 5 has a score of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card might be given out depending on the foll. practices:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good wager as ties will occur less than one every ten hands. be wary of placing bets on a tie. Nevertheless odds are decidedly better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)

Played correctly, baccarat provides generally decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Monitoring of past outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and feasibly most successful method is the 1-three-2-six method. This scheme is deployed to accentuate payouts and minimizing risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
