Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards that are valued under ten are worth face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just represent the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 has a tally of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A third card might be dealt depending on the foll. codes:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or nine, both players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have $$$$$ still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie as a rule pays 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than one every ten hands. be wary of laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are generously better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)
When played smartly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, away from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of past results on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and probably most successful method is the 1-three-two-six method. This tactic is used to increase payouts and limiting risk.
start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
