Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are said to be at their printed value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is removed. For example, a hand of seven … five results in a total of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card might be dealt depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or nine, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have cash remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie generally pay eight to one and occasionally nine to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. However odds are richly better – nine to 1 versus eight to 1)

Played correctly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of past results on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 method. This scheme is deployed to boost profits and cutting back risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
